2008 Benefit Auction Highlights
The 2008 Annual Benefit Auction held August 10th was a great day! The weather provided lots of sunshine to encourage great fun and fellowship. Many volunteer helpers and over 200 bidders helped make the day a success.
The many wonderful donations of antiques, collectibles and quilts made the day possible. After an outdoor camp-style worship, visitors enjoyed a grilled chicken dinner, followed by the AUCTION. |

The Lee family of Lee Real Estate and Auction Service, Menomonie engaged our crowd with efficiency and many times a good laugh! We thank them for their time and talent.

Luther Park is happy to report proceeds from the day was nearly $31,000! That includes sales of all auction items, quilts, and food sales.

The Quilt Auction is always fun – fun to watch many people vie for their favorite quilts and then fun to see the winners faces as they become the proud new owners of a beautiful quilt. This year’s auction saw 107 quilts that were donated by individuals and groups throughout the constituency of 133 churches. Luther Park is truly blessed!

Representatives from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Ann Matheny and Russ LaPoint presented Sherm Toufar, Executive Director of Luther Park with a check for $2000 just prior to the quilt auction. This was a gift of matching funds through the Care in Regions program based on the quilt sales. The quilt Auction went very well, but the additional $2000 was a real nice bonus!

Auction attendees had the opportunity to view all quilts donated on the morning of the auction. They were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite quilts at that time. Luther Park is happy to show you the first place winners in each category:
